Entering the world of foliage

Just when the pandemic hits in 2020, my world turned just like the world did.

I had my first newborn, moved to the suburbs from the city where I lived my whole life up till then, and my career as a leather handcraftsman also came to a crossroad...

​

Pulling myself out of the comfort zone and going through all these changes, I was going through a lot of emotional turmoils. Fortunately, I stumbled upon the world of foliage and found my inner peace within. Eventually, foliage became part of my daily life.

The birth of the first foliage miniature

 

The world of foliage is vast and never-ending to explore, and that is definitely one of its beauty. However, I realized one day that there are just too many foliage I love yet can't have. Whether it is too expensive or not enough space or not the right growing environment or just keeps dying, there is always one reason for not making it happen.

 

So I asked myself why not make one myself? That was the enlightenment and birth of the first handcrafted foliage miniature.

Foliage miniature collection grows

With my experience in leather handcrafting from the past decade, I developed the first personal collection of 5 foliage miniatures in a month's time. Apparently, lots of friends love it as much as i do; so unexpectedly, I started making foliage miniatures for friends and relatives.

​

Whether it is a gift or workspace decoration or a personal collection, fortunately every foliage miniature can be tailored to one's preference since it is handcrafted. Thus, one thing led to another, I started making foliage miniature for foliage fans,  plant shops, art museums, fairs and exhibitions, galleries, and etc.

​

The development of new foliage miniature continue to accumulate with each collaboration. As of 2022, the foliage miniature collection consists of 90 different foliage. 

​

I look forward for this collection to continue to grow in the future. As I always say, I enjoy developing new foliage miniatures. Getting to know a new foliage, to know why or what people love about it, and actually handcrafting it is all very uplifting and comforting for me.
